Members do not have indefinite tenure but remain in office as long as they carry out research activities functional to the program and participate actively. This ensures strong turnover, inclusion and involvement of the interdisciplinary scientific community, responsiveness to needs, innovation, and cultural and scientific renewal. Representation to disciplinary scientific societies, corporations is not an elective title for participation in the VIVA Scientific Committee. All members have no personal financial conflicts of interest.<br>Scientific coordination is carried out through interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research centres.
