Once again, the VIVA Program will be featured at Vinitaly, which this year reaches its 54th edition, through the experiences of the many companies that have been participating for years in the Program for the measurement and improvement of sustainability performance in the wine supply chain promoted by the Ministry of Ecological Transition. Vinitaly has always been a wonderful opportunity to get to know each other and lay the foundations for building the transition towards sustainable viticulture together. Thanks to the resilience of all those involved in various capacities in the VIVA sustainability process, from companies to consultants, from auditors to all VIVA staff, the “sustainability operators” will be witnesses at Veronafiere from 10 to 13 April of the commitment for a more sustainable future.
This year companies are true ambassadors of sustainability at Vinitaly, displaying the newly received or renewed VIVA label or organizing events on the topic of sustainability in viticulture. Indeed, the last two years of health crisis have not slowed down the activities of the VIVA program, and more than 70 labels have been issued between product and organization.
Ettore Capri, scientific coordinator of the Program and full professor at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, will meet on April 11th with both companies that have recently joined the initiative and historic companies that have made sustainability a driving light for years, for a symbolic VIVA label handover that marks the beginning or consolidation of an increasingly paved path toward sustainability.
